Seems everybody and everything has its on website these days, including the Entente Cordiale
. Good to see some attempts to remember better days with the French, though the original reason for Britain and France getting together doesn't get stressed so often. It gave Britain a free hand in Egypt leaving France a free hand in Morocco, thus avoiding nasty colonial clashes in the islamic world. Now of course in this day and 9/11 age that might not be the most diplomatic history to celebrate.
On more contemporary matters, the New Europe Festival
in the Fine Rooms of the FCO looks like a nice day out. Just possible I will be there making a pig of myself on appropriate foods and celebrating Lithuanian accession to the EU.
